FLAMING BANANAS FOSTER

    Ingredients:
  • ½ Stick Butter
  • 4 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 2 Bananas Sliced
  • ¼ Cup Dark Rum
  • 2 Cups Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Long Lighter
And now for Josie's - and actually every woman's - favorite desert - bananas on fire. PS - don't ask me how I know every woman loves this one - but trust me they do. And the nice thing about this recipe is that it's the simplest of the bunch - but also guaranteed to be the most impressive.

Pretty basic steps. Melt the butter in a sauté pan and add the brown sugar, cooking and stirring over medium heat until the mixture is slightly bubbly. Add bananas just long enough to warm them up a bit and then stand back and add the rum. Make sure you're still standing back away from the pan and use a LONG lighter to light the mixture. This can be a bit scary the first time or two, but trust me, as long as you use common sense, AND a long lighter, the flames stay in the pan and away from you. No need to blow them out, once the alcohol has been cooked off, the flames will go out on their own. Once that happens pour the mixture over a scoop of vanilla ice cream and serve right away. And - at that point - be ready to except kudos for your exceptional cooking skill. It's amazing, but the simplest dish really is the biggest crowd pleaser!
